SARGODHA, Jul 17 (APP):The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has intensified its crackdown on electricity theft to reduce line losses and improve the power distribution system across the region.
A FESCO Sargodha Circle spokesperson said on Friday that special monitoring teams conducted more than 250 raids against power thieves during the last month, detecting 10,276 stolen units and issuing detection bills worth Rs5.18 million.
He said FESCO had also registered 542 FIRs against electricity thieves, with challans submitted to relevant courts for legal proceedings.
He further said work was underway to modernize FESCO’s infrastructure, with funds allocated for the replacement and maintenance of damaged electricity wires and other development projects.
