FESCO expedites drive to recover dues, warns defaulters of strict action

FAISALABAD, Jun 10 (APP): Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has accelerated its region-wide recovery campaign and launched a stringent crackdown on defaulters, directing field formations to ensure full recovery of outstanding electricity dues by the end of June 2026 while warning that illegal power users and chronic defaulters will face strict legal action.
Chairing a review of the recovery campaign, FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engineer Muhammad Aamir instructed FESCO officers of all operation circles, divisions and subdivisions to further intensify recovery efforts and ensure the achievement of assigned targets before the close of the current financial year.
He directed the officials to mobilize special recovery teams, conduct door-to-door visits and persuade defaulting consumers to clear their outstanding bills without delay.
He stressed that the recovery of dues from both running and dead defaulters must be ensured under all circumstances and warned that negligence or laxity in this regard would not be tolerated.
FESCO spokesman Muhammad Saeed Raza said that the power utility has already initiated strict and indiscriminate action against defaulters on the directives of the Chief Executive Officer.
He said that consumers whose electricity connections had been disconnected due to non-payment and who were found obtaining electricity through illegal means would also face legal proceedings.
He said that FESCO teams were actively identifying such cases and would immediately disconnect illegal supplies wherever detected.
He said that the campaign aimed not only at recovering outstanding dues but also at curbing electricity theft and ensuring fairness in the power distribution system.
He said that final notices were being issued to defaulting consumers, advising them to clear their dues at the earliest.
In cases of continued non-payment, electricity connections could be disconnected in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, he added.
FESCO has appealed to all consumers to pay their electricity bills and other outstanding liabilities before the end of June 2026 to avoid legal complications and administrative action.
He emphasized that timely payment of bills was essential for maintaining an efficient and sustainable electricity supply system.
Engineer Muhammad Aamir urged officers and employees to demonstrate teamwork, commitment and professional competence to make the recovery campaign a success and ensure the achievement of all financial year 2025-26 targets.
He said that the consumers should fulfill their national responsibility by paying electricity bills on time, adding that prompt payments help strengthen the power supply system and enable the utility to provide better and uninterrupted services to consumers.
FESCO is committed to achieve 100 percent recovery of dues and the company would continue utilizing all available resources to improve the power distribution network, enhance operational efficiency and provide quality services to consumers across the region, he added.
