FAISALABAD, Sep 01 (APP): Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Director General (IT) Dr Abdul Hai said that FESCO was moving to strengthen operational efficiency, transparency and field monitoring through digital transformation.
He was addressing a training session organized for FESCO officers from First FESCO, Second Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali and Sargodha circles on the effective use of the e-Operations (E-Ops) software.
He stressed that e-Operations and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping were becoming essential tools for a more integrated and data-driven electricity distribution system.
He said that the initiatives were not merely about introducing modern software and technology but were aimed at making FESCO’s operational system more efficient, coordinated and capable of providing accurate data promptly.
During session, the DG IT provided detailed guidance to participants on various aspects of the e-Operations system, its practical application, the utility of associated hardware and ways to make maximum use of modern IT systems in field operations.
He emphasized that integrating modern technology into routine operational activities could significantly improve institutional performance while also enabling the company to provide better services to electricity consumers.
Dr Abdul Hai directed the concerned officers to ensure that the GIS mapping project was advanced according to the prescribed targets so that FESCO could fully benefit from the system.
He said that effective use of modern IT systems would significantly assist in monitoring the electricity distribution network, tracking field activities, identifying problems at an early stage, improving administrative processes and ensuring better and more timely services to consumers.
He urged officers to take full advantage of FESCO’s ongoing technology-driven initiatives and ensure their maximum and effective utilization in their respective areas of responsibility.
He provided necessary guidance and discussed possible ways of addressing the issues to ensure smooth implementation of the digital systems.
He said that continued adoption of digital tools and accurate, readily available operational data would help FESCO make its distribution system more responsive, transparent and efficient while strengthening decision-making and service delivery.
The training session was attended by Superintending Engineer First Circle Muhammad Amir Khan, SE Second Circle Syed Saleem Shah, SE Jhang Circle Mehr Muhammad Afzal Kathia, SE Sargodha Circle Abrar Ahmed, SE Mianwali Circle Bilal Iqbal, SE Toba Tek Singh Ismatullah, Executive Engineers and other concerned officers, besides all Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) of the respective circles. They apprised Dr Abdul Hai of practical difficulties and challenges being encountered in the field. The participating officers showed keen interest in the training and held detailed discussions on various operational aspects of the e-Operations and GIS mapping projects. The participants expressed their commitment to making maximum use of the ongoing IT initiatives and utilizing their benefits to improve FESCO’s overall operational performance, field monitoring and quality of services being provided to consumers.
