FDA removes encroachments from Millat Road

FAISALABAD, Jul 16 (APP): Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has launched a vigorous and indiscriminate anti-encroachment operation is continuing in FDA- controlled residential colonies and commercial markets.
An FDA spokesman said here on Thursday that Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry taking immediate notice of public complaints had directed the concerned officers to ensure complete elimination of encroachments through effective action under zero-tolerance policy.
Therefore, FDA team, working under the supervision of Director Estate Management-I Junaid Hassan Manj and led by Estate Officer Faran Hashmi, along with Inspector Sanaullah and other staff members, conducted operations on Main Millat Road, Akbar Chowk Gulistan Colony, Hajveri Town, and other adjoining markets and commercial areas.
During operation, it was observed that several shopkeepers, pushcart vendors, and stallholders had placed merchandise and set up stalls on roads, footpaths, and public walkways, causing serious obstruction to traffic and pedestrian movement.
The FDA team immediately removed all encroachments, confiscated the goods, and completely cleared the public passages.
He said that legal proceedings were initiated against 42 violators and their challans were submitted to the Court of the Special Judicial Magistrate.
Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry reaffirmed that the zero-tolerance policy against encroachments would continue to be enforced without exception.
He warned that no individual would be allowed to occupy roads, footpaths, or public walkways in a manner that obstructs public movement. Any such violation would invite strict and indiscriminate legal action, he added.
He further directed the concerned officers to continue anti-encroachment operations on a permanent basis to ensure that citizens have access to safe, spacious, and obstruction-free public roads and walkways.
