FDA directed to maintain financial discipline and management within authority

FAISALABAD, Jun 11 (APP): Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has directed FDA officers that financial discipline and management must be maintained at all costs within the authority.

He said that all expenditures should be made strictly in accordance with the approved policies, rules, regulations, and financial laws while adhering to the comprehensive and sustainable financial management system already in place.

He was chairing a meeting to review the authority’s financial affairs and audit observations.

Additional Director General Qaiser Abas Rind, Chief Engineer Mehar Ayub, Directors Asma Mohsin, Junaid Hassan Manj, Sohail Maqsood Pannu, Afnan Saeed Sandhu, Asim Mahmood, Deputy Director Finance Afzal Ansari and other officers were also present on the occasion.

The DG FDA said that to ensure financial transparency and accountability the Finance Department should conduct regular pre-audits of all expenditures and thoroughly verify all dues, fees, and other revenues collected by the authority.

He directed that under-assessed or under-recovered dues should be identified immediately and the responsible officers must take timely corrective measures.

The Director General further emphasized that the accurate assessment of various fees and charges is essential to enhance the Authority’s revenue and ensure the effective utilization of financial resources.

He instructed the concerned officers to take comprehensive and coordinated measures under financial rules and regulations to resolve existing audit observations by providing all necessary documents, relevant records, valid justifications and supporting evidence, thereby enabling the permanent settlement of audit objections through effective follow-up.

He also directed FDA officers to pay special attention to the recovery campaign and utilize all available legal and administrative means for the collection of outstanding dues.

He stressed that unnecessary and unjustified expenditures must be strictly controlled and that any violation of financial discipline would not be tolerated.

The DG FDA further instructed the concerned officers to take indiscriminate action against defaulters and adopt an effective strategy to ensure 100 percent recovery of outstanding dues so as to further strengthen the financial stability of the authority.
