HAFIZABAD, Jul 28 (APP):The Punjab government has allocated agricultural land to 22 landless families in district under its “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” (Own Farm, Own Livelihood) programme, the officials sources said on Tuesday.
The allotment letters were distributed during a ceremony attended by Member, National Assembly Saira Afzal Tarar, Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Razzaq, Provincial Parliamentary Secretaries, Mian Shahid Hussain and Aoun Jahangir Bhatti, and other officials.
Speaking at the event, Tarar and Abdul Razzaq said the initiative, launched under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aimed to create employment opportunities for landless people while promoting agricultural development and economic growth across the province.
They said the farmland was allocated through a merit-based and transparent process, with beneficiaries receiving the land on 10-year lease agreements.
They added that the programme was intended to provide sustainable livelihoods for unemployed individuals and contribute to the province’s agricultural productivity.
