SARGODHA, Jun 05 (APP):A farewell reception was held in honor of Inspector General of Prisons Mian Farooq Nazir at the Gymkhana Club, Sargodha,where speakers paid tribute to his services and contributions to the development of the Punjab Prisons Department,here on Friday.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prisons Sargodha Region Chaudhry Saeedullah Gondal, District Jail Shahpur Superintendent Muhammad Abu Bakr Abdullah,MPAs Rana Munawar Ghaus, Safdar Hussain Sahi and Sardar Asim Sher Maken along with serving and retired prison officers and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Prisons Chaudhry Saeedullah Gondal lauded Farooq Nazir’s leadership and commitment to institutional reforms.
He said the outgoing IG had rendered exemplary services for the welfare of prison staff and inmates and played a key role in strengthening the department across Punjab.
He added that under Nazir’s leadership,various sectors of the Prisons Department witnessed significant progress and development,attributing these achievements to his dedication, hard work and administrative vision.
The participants acknowledged Nazir’s contributions to improving prison administration and expressed appreciation for his efforts to enhance the department’s performance and public service delivery.
Among the distinguished guests were Mehr Umar Daraz Jhawari, Deputy Director of the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Sargodha, and Syed Ali Abid Naqvi, District Officer of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, Sargodha, who attended the event on the special invitation of the DIG Prisons Sargodha Region.
The ceremony concluded with prayers and best wishes for Farooq Nazir’s future endeavours.
