An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday granted police a four-day extension in the physical remand of PTI activist Falak Javed in a case registered in connection with the attack on Jinnah House during the May 9 violence.

LAHORE, Sep 24 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday granted police a four-day extension in the physical remand of PTI activist Falak Javed in a case registered in connection with the attack on Jinnah House during the May 9 violence.
Police produced Falak Javed before the ATC Judge after completion of her previous 14-day physical remand and sought a further 30-day remand for interrogation.
The investigating officer told the court that a photogrammetric test of the accused had been conducted, but her mobile phone was yet to be recovered. He said further investigation was required in the case.
Advocate Azhar Suluhria, representing Falak Javed, opposed the request for further remand, arguing that his client had been arrested on the basis of the statement of another accused. He maintained that Falak Javed was not involved in the attack on Jinnah House. He requested the court to discharge her from the case.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted police a four-day extension in Falak Javed’s physical remand and sent her back into police custody.
The case, registered as FIR No. 96/23 at Sarwar Road Police Station, alleges that PTI leaders incited party workers to engage in arson and violence. According to the investigating officer, PTI leaders allegedly attacked Jinnah House as part of a conspiracy.
The FIR includes charges relating to sedition and other serious offences.
