The Punjab Food Authority has taken action against the alleged fake packaging and sale of substandard salt on Wednesday, seizing more than four maunds of salt from a salt unit in Rahmania Colony, Burewala, according to a spokesperson.

BUREWALA, Sep 23 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority has taken action against the alleged fake packaging and sale of substandard salt on Wednesday, seizing more than four maunds of salt from a salt unit in Rahmania Colony, Burewala, according to a spokesperson.
The spokesperson said that the substandard salt was being packed under the names of well-known brands. Tests of the seized salt also found insufficient iodine levels.
A case was registered against the suspect allegedly involved in the adulteration and fake packaging, while the unit was sealed, the spokesperson added.
