Exhibition of senior artists’ paintings concludes at Rawalpindi Arts Council

RAWALPINDI, Jul 22 (APP): A painting exhibition showcasing artwork by prominent senior artists of the region concluded at the Punjab Council of the Arts (PUCAR) Rawalpindi on Wednesday. Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab, Shazia Rizwan attending as chief guest.

During a detailed walkthrough of the gallery, the Parliamentary Secretary inspected the artworks, which highlighted natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and social themes through a blend of traditional and modern painting techniques. She praised the creative mastery and contributions of the participating artists toward enriching the fine arts sector.

Addressing the audience, Shazia Rizwan stated that fine arts serve as a vital reflection of a nation’s cultural identity, values, and national heritage. She noted that artists play a key role in projecting a positive image of society, adding that recognizing and encouraging their service remains a key government priority.

She maintained that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government was taking concrete measures to promote cultural activities, nurture youth talent, and support veteran artists. She commended PUCAR Rawalpindi for providing platform opportunities to local artists to showcase their creative works.

Shazia Rizwan added that artists from Rawalpindi have earned distinction at both national and international levels, assuring that the government will continue extending full patronage toward the welfare of the artistic community and the promotion of fine arts.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Parliamentary Secretary distributed certificates of appreciation among the participating senior artists. The event was attended by officials from PUCAR Rawalpindi, members of the artistic and literary community, students, and art enthusiasts.
