Eradicating Islamophobia stressed

Chairman Ulema Council Pakistan (UCP) and General Secretary International Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Movement Pakistan Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi said that eliminating the growing hatred and prejudice against Muslims across the world had become an urgent need of the time and the international community must take effective legal measures to curb hate crimes.

FAISALABAD, Mar 15 (APP):Chairman Ulema Council Pakistan (UCP) and General Secretary International Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Movement Pakistan Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi said that eliminating the growing hatred and prejudice against Muslims across the world had become an urgent need of the time and the international community must take effective legal measures to curb hate crimes.
Addressing a seminar at Jamia Qasmia Faisalabad in connection with the “International Day to Combat Islamophobia”, he said that Islam is a religion that promotes peace, tolerance and justice. It guaranteed fundamental human rights long before modern legal frameworks and linking Islam with extremism reflected a lack of understanding of its true teachings, he added.
