The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Rawalpindi organized its annual day ceremony here Thursday to highlight environmental awareness and institutional services.

RAWALPINDI, Apr 16 (APP): The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Rawalpindi organized its annual day ceremony here Thursday to highlight environmental awareness and institutional services.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Abdul Rehman Khan attended the event as chief guest.
The ceremony included a cake-cutting and a tree plantation activity aimed at promoting environmental protection and supporting the vision of a green Pakistan.

Addressing the participants, Abdul Rehman Khan said that environmental pollution had become a serious challenge and required collective efforts to address it. He emphasized that provision of a clean environment was a shared responsibility and public cooperation was essential alongside government initiatives.
He also highlighted steps taken by the Punjab government, including clean and green campaigns, anti-smog measures and modern environmental monitoring systems. He stressed the need for industries to ensure proper treatment of waste in accordance with environmental laws to minimize risks to human health and the environment.
Certificates and souvenirs were distributed among participants at the end of the ceremony.
During the event the guests including President RCCI Usman Shaukat, Deputy Director EPA Rawalpindi Sadia Batool, Deputy Director Pak EPA Khizarullah, large number of reps from business community and officials from various departments took part in maiden flag hoisting ceremony for the Environment Protection Force.
