Drug supplier awarded nine-year imprisonment

A local court has awarded nine years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000.0 on a drug supplier in a narcotics case, police said on Monday.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 15 (APP): A local court has awarded nine years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000.0 on a drug supplier in a narcotics case, police said on Monday.
The convicted accused, identified as Shakir, was arrested by Waris Khan Police in January after 1.760 kilograms of charas was recovered from his possession.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of SSP Investigation and the investigation and legal teams for ensuring conviction of the accused, he said.
He said the police were taking all possible measures to eliminate the menace of drugs from society.
