RAWALPINDI, Sep 01 (APP): In recognition of the services rendered by Dr Muhammad Mujeeb Khan, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, the district administration honoured him with a Shield of Appreciation during a ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir.
Dr. Mujeeb, known for dedicated services, has delivered an extraordinary clinical benchmark in public health, successfully overseeing the treatment of 2,500 admitted dengue patients during 2025 with a zero percent mortality rate through rigorous patient management protocols.
Beyond clinical care, he led the Dengue Expert Advisory Group-2026 Refresher Trainings for General Practitioners (GPs) across District Rawalpindi, personally supervising the capacity-building of local healthcare providers to strengthen primary medical defenses.
Through these structured training sessions conducted in batches of 50, Dr. Mujeeb has already trained 817 out of 983 registered GPs, achieving an 83 percent coverage rate across the district to ensure early diagnostic accuracy and prompt identification of danger signs.
The comprehensive curriculum devised by him equips family physicians with critical skills to implement immediate medical interventions and ensure timely patient referrals to tertiary care facilities, effectively preventing late-stage complications during seasonal outbreaks.
Presenting the award on behalf of the District Administration and District Health Authority Rawalpindi, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir praised Dr. Mujeeb’s dual contributions in providing life-saving clinical care and fortifying the district’s healthcare network against infectious diseases.
