RAWALPINDI, Oct 06 (APP): Dr. Daniel Saud of South Dakota State University (SDSU), Brookings, USA, visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) and called on Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman to explore opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
Welcoming the visiting scholar, the Vice Chancellor highlighted PMAS-AAUR’s academic programmes, research strengths and international linkages, particularly its focus on innovation and technology-driven solutions to agricultural and environmental challenges. The discussions covered potential cooperation in agricultural sciences, geospatial technologies, remote sensing, climate-smart agriculture, joint research, student and faculty exchange, and capacity building.
Dr. Saud also visited various research facilities and interacted with faculty and researchers. He was briefed on ongoing projects and other emerging technologies for agriculture, food security, climate resilience and sustainable resource management.
Appreciating the University’s research and innovation initiatives, Dr. Saud expressed interest in developing mutually beneficial institutional linkages. Both sides emphasized the importance of international academic partnerships in promoting collaborative research, knowledge exchange and opportunities for students and researchers.
The University administration expressed its commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding opportunities leading institutions around the world.
