DPO awards disciplinary penalties to 28 police officials

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 06 (APP): District Police Officer (DPO) Muzaffargarh, Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, conducted the weekly orderly room to review disciplinary matters, reaffirming the department’s commitment to accountability and professional standards.
According to the police spokesperson here on Monday, disciplinary action was taken against 15 police officials after they submitted unsatisfactory replies to show-cause notices. The officials were awarded major penalties, including stoppage of annual increments, salary deductions and forfeiture of service.
In addition, 13 police officers and officials were awarded censure penalties. Those penalized included five Sub-Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), one Head Constable, 12 Constables and Lady Constables, and one Police Station Assistant.
The spokesperson said that several show-cause notices were filed after the officials concerned submitted satisfactory explanations.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah said dishonesty, corruption, negligence and dereliction of duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that strict accountability was essential to maintaining discipline and improving the performance of the police force.
