Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza on Friday held an open court at his office in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where he heard citizens’ complaints regarding investigation of cases and issued on-the-spot directions for their redress.
DIG Investigation holds open court to address citizens’ complaints
LAHORE, Aug 28 (APP): Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza on Friday held an open court at his office in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where he heard citizens’ complaints regarding investigation of cases and issued on-the-spot directions for their redress.
A large number of overseas Pakistanis also participated in the open court, besides citizens who appeared with complaints concerning investigation of their cases.
The DIG Investigation listened to the complainants in detail and issued immediate directions to the relevant officers for resolving their grievances.
On complaints regarding investigation, he directed the Assistant DIG to conduct inquiries into several complaints. He also marked a number of cases to the change of Investigation Board over allegations of faulty investigation and issued show-cause notices to the concerned investigating officers.
The DIG directed divisional SPs Investigation to immediately resolve several complaints and also contacted the officers concerned by telephone, issuing directions regarding investigation of the relevant cases.
“Complaints of citizens regarding investigation of cases are being addressed promptly,” Zeeshan said.
He said protection of the lives and property of citizens was the foremost priority of the police.
The DIG directed police officers to behave courteously with citizens visiting their offices and further improve their performance.
He said the doors of his office would remain open at all times for resolving public grievances and ensuring relief to citizens.
