RAWALPINDI, Oct 04 (APP):Seven new confirmed dengue cases were registered in Rawalpindi district over the first four days of October, with 2 in the last 24 hours. Total confirmed cases reach 40, while 10 confirmed dengue patients remain admitted in isolation wards across local hospitals.
District Health Authority’s updated disease surveillance report shows that hospital screenings climbed from 4,893 to 5,094 over the four days, registering 179 new suspected cases to reach 4,699 total suspected cases during 2026. While overall hospital admissions saw a minor reduction from 15 to 13 patients, the count of hospitalized confirmed dengue cases remained stable at 10.
Health officials confirmed that zero dengue-related fatalities have occurred across the district to date.
The seven recent admissions were reported from union councils including CTC-8, Fauji Colony, Adyala, Wah, Pindora, Qayumamabad and Dhama Syedan.
High-risk zones operating above a Breteau Index of 10 expanded from 25 to 33 union councils, with peak larval concentrations recorded in Ratta Amral, Dhoke Naju, Fauji Colony, Dhoke Babu Irfan, Takht Pari and Hazara Colony.
Enforcement teams lodged 81 new FIRs, sealed eight additional premises, issued 92 new challans and levied Rs. 324,000.0 in fresh penalties, bringing the cumulative total to over Rs 3.15 million in fines collected.
