SARGODHA, Aug 12 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday arrested a loader rickshaw driver carrying a dead animal during an inspection.
According to a spokesman, the PFA team intercepted the loader rickshaw at Chak 143-NB, Sillanwali, and recovered a dead animal weighing around 460 kilograms.
The animal was disposed of at a designated dumping site, while the veterinary doctor present at the spot declared the meat highly hazardous for human consumption.
He said there was no record available regarding the slaughter of the animal, raising concerns that its meat could have been supplied to the market.
One accused managed to flee from the scene, while the driver and loader rickshaw were taken into police custody.
A case was registered against the suspects on the complaint of the Punjab Food Authority.
