DCC reviews 18 point agenda, orders stronger action against crime, illegal activities

SARGODHA, Jul 09 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Thursday presided over a meeting of the District Coordination Committee (DCC), reviewing progress on an 18-point agenda and directing all relevant departments to strengthen coordination for effective enforcement of law and timely implementation of government directives.
According to the official spokesperson here, District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf, Lieutenant Colonel Haris of the Pakistan Army, officers of the district administration, law enforcement agencies and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
The committee reviewed departmental performance and ongoing initiatives, with officials briefing participants on measures taken in their respective sectors.
The meeting discussed stricter enforcement of traffic laws, action against illegal petrol pumps, prevention of the unlawful sale of petrol, elimination of illegal LPG decanting, and improving checking mechanisms on major roads and highways.
Participants also reviewed the crackdown on professional beggars and coordinated efforts with the Child Protection Bureau, while emphasizing the need to accelerate anti-encroachment operations across the district.
The committee examined progress on the registration of religious seminaries, action against non-custom-paid vehicles, legal proceedings against warehouses involved in smuggling and shopkeepers selling smuggled goods, measures to curb electricity theft, public awareness campaigns, and arrangements for the repatriation of Proof of Registration (PoR) card holders.
The meeting further reviewed the ongoing crackdown on illegal weapons and drug traffickers, as well as efforts to promote tree plantation, improve sanitation and waste management, and reduce environmental pollution.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC directed all departments to work in close coordination, ensure effective implementation of government policies, achieve assigned targets within the stipulated timeframe, and further improve service delivery to strengthen the rule of law and facilitate the public.
