DC reviews arrangements for AJK legislative assembly elections:

Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry chaired a meeting on Monday to review and finalize all necessary arrangements for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly general elections, scheduled for July 27, 2026, for Kashmiri voters residing in Sargodha district.

SARGODHA, Jul 20 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry chaired a meeting on Monday to review and finalize all necessary arrangements for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly general elections, scheduled for July 27, 2026, for Kashmiri voters residing in Sargodha district.
The meeting was informed that a total of 2,154 registered Kashmiri voters, including 1,171 men and 983 women, are set to exercise their right to franchise in constituencies LA-34 Jammu-I and LA-42 Kashmir Valley-III.
Officials briefed the meeting that while 17 candidates are contesting for LA-34 Jammu-I, seven candidates are in the field for LA-42 Kashmir Valley-III, which notably has only one registered voter within the district.
To facilitate voters, the administration would establish six joint polling stations across the district featuring 12 polling booths, with separate sections for male and female voters.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that the polling stations be established at Government Boys High School Dharima, Government Comprehensive Boys High School Sargodha, Government Boys High School Sillanwali, Government Boys High School Bhalwal, Government Girls High School Jahanabad Shahpur, and Government Girls High School Liliani in Kot Momin.
Hussain Ahamd Chaudhry instructed the relevant departments to ensure the timely completion of security, transport, electricity, and communication arrangements for a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
He further directed the Assistant Commissioners to personally visit all designated sites to ensure the availability of basic amenities, including water, sanitation, and furniture.
The meeting was further told that polling equipment would be distributed to Presiding Officers on July 26,2026  following the completion of their final training sessions.
The meeting was attended by District Election Commissioner Arshad Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rana Muhammad Abubakar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Muhammad Arshad Wattoo, CEO Education Azhar Sohail Khan, and other senior district officials.
