DC orders timely removal of garbage from all city areas

LAHORE, Sep 02 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Wednesday visited Model Town tehsil and reviewed sanitation arrangements in Shadman.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Enforcement), Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), Assistant Commissioner Model Town and Deputy Managing Director WASA accompanied the deputy commissioner during the visit.

The Assistant Commissioner Model Town briefed the DC on administrative affairs and municipal services in the area.

The DC directed the authorities concerned to ensure timely removal and transfer of garbage from all areas of the city. He also ordered strict monitoring of the desilting and cleaning of drains. He said no negligence would be tolerated in the provision of municipal services and directed officers to remain present in the field to ensure high standards of cleanliness. “Making Lahore a clean city is the foremost mission of the district administration,” Captain (retd) Ali Ejaz said, adding that all available resources were being utilised to provide citizens with a better and healthier environment. He said field visits would continue to monitor civic services and address public issues effectively.

Meanwhile, the DC also visited Services Hospital and the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) to review medical and safety arrangements and inspect the ongoing safety audit process.

Medical Superintendent Services Hospital Dr Amir Rafiq Butt accompanied the deputy commissioner during his visit, while Chief Executive PIC Dr Imran Shah briefed him on the facilities and arrangements at the cardiac hospital.

The DC inspected the emergency, indoor, intensive care and cardiology wards and reviewed arrangements for dealing with any emergency situation. He directed the hospital administrations to keep all safety arrangements fully functional and ready at all times. He instructed the authorities to ensure the provision of quality medical facilities to patients and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all wards. He also directed that all safety measures identified during the safety audits be implemented immediately.

The DC ordered that safety audits of the hospitals be completed within the stipulated timeframe and stressed strict compliance with all safety protocols to protect patients and their attendants. He directed the concerned authorities to keep all emergency exits and routes clear at all times to prevent any untoward incident.

“Providing citizens with the best possible healthcare facilities is a top priority of the district administration,” the DC said, adding that all available resources would be utilised to improve healthcare services.

He said protection of the lives and property of citizens was the responsibility of the district administration and stressed that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure the safety of patients and their attendants.

The DC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made for cardiac patients at PIC and directed the hospital administration to continue utilising all available resources for provision of quality healthcare facilities.
