RAWALPINDI, Jul 12 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi conducted a detailed inspection of various areas of the hill station to review sanitation, civic services, and tourist facilities under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Suthra Punjab vision.
Assistant Commissioner Murree, Managing Director WASA, SDO PERA, Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation and other officials were also present.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Bagh-e-Shuhada, Kashmir Point, and View Fort Jhika Gali.
The visit aimed to assess the implementation of the chief minister’s directives to improve cleanliness, ensure the provision of safe drinking water, strengthen drainage systems, and enhance facilities for tourists.
Officials from the relevant departments briefed the deputy commissioner on ongoing projects and development initiatives.
During the inspection, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi directed authorities to maintain high standards of cleanliness at all tourist attractions, roads, markets, and public places across Murree.
He also ordered the immediate removal of obstacles affecting the drainage system and stressed that no negligence in the provision of basic public services would be tolerated.
The deputy commissioner further instructed PERA and the district administration to ensure the complete removal of encroachments from roads and markets, intensify action against profiteers, and strictly enforce official price lists.
He said preserving Murree’s natural beauty, cleanliness, and orderly environment in accordance with the chief minister’s vision was essential to provide tourists with a clean, safe, and pleasant experience.
The deputy commissioner added that the district administration was utilizing all available resources to transform Murree into a model tourist destination, with the performance of all relevant departments being continuously monitored.
