DC enforces ‘Open-Door Policy’ to provide immediate relief to complainants in Murree

RAWALPINDI, Jul 20 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Monday met with local residents under the district administration’s ‘open-door policy’ and issued on-the-spot directives to relevant departments for the swift resolution of public grievances.
A large number of citizens attended the public grievance session held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office to apprise the district chief of their issues regarding utility services, land revenue matters, civic administration, and other public service complaints.
The Deputy Commissioner listened to each application individually and issued immediate orders to the concerned line officers present at the venue to take swift corrective action.
Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi stated that the timely and quality delivery of public services remained the foremost priority of the district administration. He warned that unnecessary official delays, red tape, and negligence in addressing public complaints would meet with zero tolerance.
He directed all subordinate officers and administrative staff to take personal interest in solving the problems of the complainants, exhibit courteous behavior toward visitors, and ensure that all public applications were disposed of within the prescribed timelines. He emphasized that the primary objective of the open-door policy was to provide citizens direct, unhindered access to the administration for priority relief.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed all Assistant Commissioners of the district to personally monitor the grievance redressal mechanisms in their respective jurisdictions on a daily basis and ensure that effective relief was delivered directly to the doorsteps of the citizens.
The visiting citizens appreciated the open-door initiative and the direct access provided by the Deputy Commissioner, expressing hope that such proactive administrative measures would make the public service delivery system more responsive and functional.
