DC directs beautification, cleanliness drive,  removing  encroachments

she inspected ongoing beautification and restoration work at Bypass Chowk on Lahore Road and Bypass Chowk on Sadwala Road, accompanied by District Council Chief Officer, Muhammad Fayyaz, Municipal Committee Chief Officer, Muhammad Arif, Suthra Punjab Manager Muhammad Hamza and other officials.
During the visit, she reviewed monuments, landscaping and renovation work at the city’s main entry points.
The deputy commissioner instructed officials to further enhance the monuments, ensure proper maintenance of lawns and plants, carry out timely irrigation and improve lighting arrangements.
She also emphasized maintaining high standards of cleanliness and directed departments concerned to take all necessary measures to preserve the appearance and attractiveness of the city’s entrances.
Later, Rizwan visited Lahore Road to inspect planters installed under an ongoing beautification project. She ordered officials to plant seasonal, high-quality greenery, ensure its proper upkeep and maintain cleanliness along both sides of the road.
The deputy commissioner also directed the immediate removal of encroachments along Lahore Road, stressing the need to keep public spaces accessible and orderly.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the objective of the beautification and restoration initiatives was to provide the residents with a clean, green and pleasant environment.
She instructed relevant departments to closely monitor ongoing projects and warned that negligence regarding cleanliness, beautification or encroachments would not be tolerated.
She added that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the government directives.
