CTPL identify owner of 1,743 vehicles, Rs2.82m e-challan defaulter

City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) have intensified its campaign against e-challan defaulters, identifying a man with 1,743 motorcycles, rickshaws and other vehicles registered in his name, carrying outstanding traffic fines worth over Rs2.82 million, traffic officials said on Wednesday.

LAHORE, Jun 17 (APP): City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) have intensified its campaign against e-challan defaulters, identifying a man with 1,743 motorcycles, rickshaws and other vehicles registered in his name, carrying outstanding traffic fines worth over Rs2.82 million, traffic officials said on Wednesday.
During a general hold-up operation, traffic wardens stopped a motorcycle and verified its ownership record, which led to the discovery of large-scale traffic violations linked to the registered owner, Muhammad Jamshed.
According to spokesperson, the record revealed that 1,743 motorcycles, rickshaws and other vehicles were registered under Jamshed’s name. These vehicles had collectively been issued 2,295 e-challans for various traffic violations, with pending fines amounting to over Rs2.82 million.
The motorcycle was impounded and shifted to a local police station, while the relevant record was shared with Safe City authorities for verification and further legal proceedings.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, directed enforcement teams to continue strict action against e-challan defaulters and ensure effective implementation of traffic laws across the provincial capital.
He said a zero-tolerance policy was being pursued against traffic law violators and warned that those ignoring traffic regulations and outstanding e-challans would face strict legal action.
