City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has finalized traffic arrangements for the Chehlum procession of the martyrs of Karbala scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 9, along Abid Majid Road.
CTP Rawalpindi finalizes arrangements for Chehlum Procession
RAWALPINDI, Aug 08 (APP): City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has finalized traffic arrangements for the Chehlum procession of the martyrs of Karbala scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 9, along Abid Majid Road.
The arrangements were finalized on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam.
Chief Security Officer Traffic Headquarters Inspector Muhammad Wasim reviewed the arrangements for the procession.
More than 100 traffic police officers and personnel will perform special duties to ensure security and maintain the smooth flow of traffic through alternative routes during the procession.
The procession will begin from the residence of Mohsin Abbas on Abid Majid Road and pass through Mughalabad, Ali Chowk, Qasai Chowk, Chungi No. 22 and Dhamial Road before concluding at Imambargah Qasr-e-Sajjad.
Traffic diversions will be placed on Abid Majid Road, Tench Bhatta, Ali Road, Mughalabad and Dhamial Road, with traffic being diverted to alternative routes.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said beat officers and traffic wardens would remain on patrolling and ensure that no parking was allowed near the procession routes.
He said traffic police would work in close coordination with the district police to ensure security and smooth traffic management.
He directed all officers and personnel to remain alert during the special arrangements and perform their duties with diligence and responsibility to keep traffic flowing smoothly on alternative routes.
