CTP intensify crackdown against pressure horns, deploys special squads across Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 22 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have intensified a district-wide crackdown against the use of pressure horns on vehicles and motorcycles following directives from Punjab DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam.
Special squads have been deployed at bus stands as well as entry and exit points of the city to take strict action against violators.
During checking, traffic officials are removing pressure horns installed on vehicles and motorcycles and issuing challan tickets to those found in violation.
CTO Farhan Aslam said the use of pressure horns contributes to excessive noise and sound pollution, which can adversely affect human hearing and neurological health.
He added that prolonged exposure to excessive noise can have negative effects on people’s well-being.
The CTO directed traffic officials to continue taking indiscriminate action against the use of pressure horns across the district.
The Official said enforcement operations against pressure horns would continue as part of efforts to control noise pollution and promote road discipline.
