A delegation of probationary officers from the Civil Services Academy (CSA) on Monday visited the headquarters of the Punjab Employees’ Social Security Institution (PESSI), where they were briefed on the institution’s workers’ welfare programmes, digital reforms and ongoing healthcare initiatives.
CSA probationary officers visit PESSI Headquarters
LAHORE, Jul 20 (APP): A delegation of probationary officers from the Civil Services Academy (CSA) on Monday visited the headquarters of the Punjab Employees’ Social Security Institution (PESSI), where they were briefed on the institution’s workers’ welfare programmes, digital reforms and ongoing healthcare initiatives.
The delegation, comprising Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officers Ayesha Sohail and Muhammad Safwan Saeed Hashmi, along with Office Management Group (OMG) officer Syed Muhammad Salman Ali, met Commissioner Punjab Social Security Zulfiqar Ali Kharal. Senior PESSI officials were also present.
The visiting officers received a detailed briefing on PESSI’s mandate, medical and financial benefits for registered workers and their families, institutional services and ongoing reforms.
They were also informed about major welfare initiatives being implemented under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the benefit of industrial workers.
Officials briefed the delegation on PESSI’s contribution and recovery targets, explaining that digital monitoring, modern technology and effective planning were being employed to enhance transparency, efficiency and accountability in the recovery system.
The delegation was also apprised of various welfare initiatives, including the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card, PESSI School of Nursing, Outreach Programme and other projects aimed at improving workers’ welfare. They were further informed about the establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Management Centre, the upgradation of Social Security hospitals, construction of new healthcare facilities and other initiatives to expand access to modern medical services.
On the occasion, Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal said PESSI was working in line with the vision of the Punjab chief minister to provide quality medical and financial facilities to workers and their families across the province.
The officers were also briefed on the PESSI Digital Hub established at the institution’s head office.
The commissioner said the hub enables real-time monitoring of all institutional dashboards and digital applications, strengthening governance and service delivery.
At the conclusion of visit, the probationary officers appreciated PESSI’s welfare initiatives, digital transformation and ongoing efforts to improve healthcare and social security services for workers and their families.
