Crackdown against professional beggars intensified

MULTAN, May 21 (APP): Police have intensified crackdown against professional beggars in an effort to make the city free from organized begging and improve public order.
According to police sources, special teams comprising Multan Police and the Pink Squad have been formed to carry out coordinated actions across different areas of the city. During ongoing operations, several professional beggars have been taken into custody.
Police said the detained individuals were allegedly involved in organized begging activities and had adopted begging as a regular source of income. The campaign aims to protect citizens from exploitation by professional beggar groups and to maintain the city’s positive image and civic discipline.
Authorities further stated that legal action was also being taken against members of the beggar mafia. Multan Police appealed to the public not to encourage professional beggars and urged citizens to immediately inform police about such elements for timely action.
Police officials reaffirmed that all available resources are being utilized to eliminate organized begging from the city and ensure a safer and more disciplined urban environment.
