LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP): Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson Sarah Ahmad has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic roof collapse at a tuition centre in Kahna, Lahore, which resulted in the death and injuries of several children.
The chairperson directed the bureau’s team to immediately reach out to the affected families and provide all possible assistance.
Describing the incident as heartbreaking, she said the Punjab Child Protection and Welfare Bureau stood with the bereaved and affected families in this difficult time. She directed the bureau’s officials to meet the victims’ families without delay and ensure psychological, social and legal support for the injured children and their relatives.
Chairperson Sarah Ahmad extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased children and prayed for the departed souls. She also called for the provision of the best possible medical treatment to the injured children.
The chairperson said negligence that endangered the lives of children could not be tolerated under any circumstances. She called for a transparent investigation into the incident and strict legal action against those found responsible.
She also urged the authorities concerned to conduct an immediate safety audit of all tuition centres and educational institutions to prevent similar incidents in future, stressing that there could be no compromise on the safety and well-being of children.
Sarah Ahmad prayed that may Almighty Allah grant the deceased children the highest place in Jannah, bless the injured with a speedy recovery and give patience and strength to the bereaved families.
