RAWALPINDI, Aug 12 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera reviewed security arrangements for the central Chehlum procession of the martyrs of Karbala here on Wednesday in Rawalpindi.
SSP Operations and the Chief Traffic Officer briefed the CPO on security and traffic arrangements put in place for the procession.
The CPO inspected duties at various points and issued instructions to police officers to ensure effective security and traffic management.
During the visit, CPO Sukhera also met with office-bearers of the Peace Committee and discussed arrangements for maintaining law and order during the procession.
“Foolproof security arrangements have been made for the procession,” the CPO said, directing officials to ensure strict implementation of the code of conduct and Standard Operating Procedures SOPs issued by the Punjab government.
He said Rawalpindi Police was taking all necessary measures to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure peace and security in the city.
