CPO Rawalpindi monitors Nullah Lai situation, orders field officers to stay alert

In view of torrential rainfall in the city, City Police Officer (CPO), Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera visited various areas of Rawalpindi to assess the situation and review arrangements for public safety.

RAWALPINDI, Aug 19 (APP): In view of torrential rainfall in the city, City Police Officer (CPO), Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera visited various areas of Rawalpindi to assess the situation and review arrangements for public safety.
During his visit, the CPO also inspected the Gawalmandi bridge and reviewed the water flow situation in Nullah Lai.
He directed police officials to remain present in the field and closely monitor developments amid the heavy rains.
Divisional Superintendents of Police, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs) and police post in-charges were actively deployed in their respective areas.
Rawalpindi Police was working in coordination with the district administration and rescue agencies to ensure the safety and facilitate the movement of citizens.
CPO Sukhera directed all officers to maintain close coordination with the district administration and rescue agencies and provide them with full support wherever required.
He also instructed the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) to ensure the smooth and continuous flow of traffic and issue timely traffic advisories for the convenience of motorists and commuters.
Rawalpindi Police said its personnel remain fully engaged in providing assistance and facilitating citizens during the adverse weather conditions. In case of an emergency, citizens could contact the relevant rescue services or call police emergency helpline 15.
