CPO chair meeting to review security arrangements for Muharram ul Haram

A meeting was held in chair of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani to review and finalize security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram at the Police Lines Headquarters here on Monday. 

RAWALPINDI, Jun 15 (APP): A meeting was held in chair of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani to review and finalize security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram at the Police Lines Headquarters here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by prominent religious scholars, community elders, members of the Peace Committee, representatives of traders’ associations while Senior police officers, including the SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer, divisional SPs, SDPOs, and other officers, were also present.
Addressing the participants, CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that Rawalpindi Police is fully committed to ensure effective security measures in accordance with the directives of the Punjab Government. He added that strict implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Punjab Government would be ensured through coordinated efforts.
He emphasized that maintaining the city’s exemplary law and order situation requires the collective cooperation of all stakeholders.
The CPO stated that Rawalpindi Police remains actively engaged around the clock in providing security for Muharram processions and religious gatherings.
He further reiterated the police department’s commitment to providing the best possible security arrangements while safeguarding citizens and facilitating their movement and participation during Muharram.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with Rawalpindi Police to ensure a peaceful Muharram.
Religious scholars and community leaders also expressed consensus on promoting peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony during the holy month.
