SARGODHA, Sep 23 (APP):A police constable was injured in an exchange of fire with a murder suspect in the jurisdiction of Kot Momin Police Station, police said on Wednesday.
According to initial information, Kot Momin Police conducted a raid to arrest a murder suspect identified as Kashif alias Kashi. On seeing the police party, the suspect allegedly opened fire.
As a result, Constable Fazal sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem took notice of the incident and sought an immediate report from SDPO Kot Momin.
SP Investigation Imran Abbas Chadhar, along with a heavy contingent of police, reached the scene.
The DPO said special teams have been constituted to arrest the accused and efforts are underway to apprehend him at the earliest.
