Commissioner reviews development and cleanliness operations in city

Lahore Divisional Commissioner Marryam Khan on Sunday visited Sundar Road and Manga Road along with administrative officers to review ongoing development and cleanliness operations being carried out under the Area Development Programme.

LAHORE, May 17 (APP): Lahore Divisional Commissioner Marryam Khan on Sunday visited Sundar Road and Manga Road along with administrative officers to review ongoing development and cleanliness operations being carried out under the Area Development Programme.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz, DG LDA Tahir Farooq, MD WASA and officers of MCL, Environment Protection Department, PHA, C&W and LWMC accompanied the commissioner during the visit.
The commissioner reviewed the desilting operation of drains along both sides of Adda Mill and Sundar Road and inspected cleanliness arrangements and water sprinkling operations on Manga Road. She directed C&W and WASA to ensure regular cleaning of drains and adjoining areas, while PHA and LWMC were instructed to enhance deployment of teams in the development area. She also directed PHA to carry out tree plantation in non-built-up areas along the entire road stretch.
Commissioner Marryam Khan said all areas of Lahore were equally important under the development vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She directed the Assistant Commissioner Raiwind to form a joint team and launch a comprehensive anti-encroachment operation besides ensuring leveling of the area from roads to shop fronts and improving shop facades to make them uniform and visually appealing.
