Commissioner Rawalpindi chairs meetings, reviews implementation of key performance indicators

RAWALPINDI, Apr 08 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir on Wednesday chaired four important meetings at the Deputy Commissioner Complex to review the implementation of over 30 key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the government to improve public services, ensure transparency, and expedite problem resolution.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema, Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Abdul Rehman Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Maliha Sehar, all assistant commissioners, and deputy commissioners from other districts participated online. Officials from the district administration, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), local government, municipal corporation, union council secretaries, and divisional heads also attended.
The commissioner directed all department heads to submit weekly reports on pending cases, performance, and attendance. He emphasised that officers and staff must ensure regular attendance, courteous service and timely assistance to citizens, while public meeting hours notices should be clearly displayed outside offices.
All divisional heads were instructed to submit certificates on their performance within a week. Commissioner Aamir Khattak warned that negligence or poor performance would not be tolerated and that officers and staff showing substandard work would face strict action without exception.
Further instructions included resolving all pension cases within a week, with department heads personally delivering pension cheques to the families of deceased employees. It was also directed that no officer would leave their station without prior permission. Local government and the municipal corporation were instructed to strengthen sanitation under the “Clean Punjab” campaign and ensure immediate improvements in traffic signals, road repairs, zebra crossings, and other civic facilities.
The commissioner also stressed that union council matters, including the issuance of birth, death, and marriage certificates, must be processed promptly and complaints resolved without delay. He urged a zero-tolerance approach in addressing public grievances and reaffirmed that all departments should prioritise citizen service while ensuring full compliance with government directives.
