FAISALABAD, Apr 03 (APP): Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar has directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Easter, a religious festival of the Christian community.
He said that extraordinary arrangements should be made around the churches across the division.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding the administrative and security matters on Easter, here on Friday. Deputy Commissioner Cap (retd) Nadeem Nasir, SSP Operations Muhammad Saleem, Deputy Commissioners and DPOs of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot via video link, and representatives of law enforcement agencies participated in the meeting.
The Commissioner said that comprehensive administrative and security measures should be implemented to provide security cover to the Christian community so they celebrate the religious festival peacefully. He said that maintaining law & order is the top priority.
The Commissioner directed continuous monitoring of fuel stocks at petrol pumps across the division and asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure close contact with petrol pump associations, transporters, essential commodities traders, middlemen and other stakeholders.
He said that no one would be allowed to make artificial inflation and such elements will be held strictly accountable.
