Commissioner directs early completion of wastewater well on Yazman Road

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza inspected the ongoing construction of a wastewater well near the Yazman Road Railway Bridge as part of efforts to improve basic civic facilities and the drainage system under the Punjab government’s Good Governance vision.

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 01 (APP): Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza inspected the ongoing construction of a wastewater well near the Yazman Road Railway Bridge as part of efforts to improve basic civic facilities and the drainage system under the Punjab government’s Good Governance vision.
During the visit, relevant officials briefed the commissioner on the progress of the project, stating that the wastewater well was being constructed to address drainage problems in Yazman Road and adjoining residential areas and improve the sewerage system. Officials said the major construction work on the underground well had almost been completed, while the remaining work mainly involved finishing and related activities.
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia reviewed the construction quality, pace of work and safety arrangements at the site and received a briefing from Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza on the current status of the project. The deputy commissioner said completion of the wastewater well would help reduce sewerage and drainage problems in Yazman Road and adjoining localities and provide residents with improved drainage facilities. The commissioner directed the concerned officers to complete the remaining finishing work at the earliest and ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe.
 He made it clear that no compromise would be tolerated on the quality of construction and directed the authorities to ensure strict compliance with all safety standards during the remaining work.
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said all available resources were being utilized to provide relief to citizens facing sewerage and drainage problems. He said the wastewater well project would contribute to making the city’s drainage system more efficient and effective and provide relief to residents of Yazman Road and adjoining areas. The commissioner also directed the concerned officers to maintain continuous monitoring of construction activities until completion and ensure that the required standards of quality and pace were maintained. Officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and other relevant departments were also present during the visit.
