LAHORE, Jun 01 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday paid rich tribute to parents,
acknowledging their lifelong sacrifices, unconditional love and invaluable role in the upbringing and character-building of children.
In a special message on the occasion of the Global Day of Parents, the CM extended her greetings and respect to all parents, saying that the day was observed worldwide to raise awareness about the respect, rights and responsibilities associated with parenthood.
She said parents were the greatest blessing in life and their love, prayers and guidance remained the most precious assets for children throughout their lives. She added that parents played a fundamental role in shaping the personalities and values of future generations.
CM Maryam Nawaz said every success she had achieved in life was due to the support, guidance and prayers of her parents. She particularly acknowledged the encouragement and mentorship of her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, saying that he had always advised her to serve the poor and underprivileged segments of society.
The CM said that when she assumed the office of chief minister, it was Nawaz Sharif who encouraged and supported her the most. She added that his commitment to public welfare and service had remained a source of inspiration for her.
CM Maryam Nawaz urged society to honour, respect and care for parents, saying that strong family values were essential for building a compassionate and progressive society.
