CM, Speaker discuss governance, budget and public welfare initiatives

The speaker lauded the chief minister’s two-year performance, describing it as “historic and unparalleled”, and commended her initiative to introduce electric bus services at the district and tehsil levels for the first time in Punjab.
The CM acknowledged and appreciated the Speaker’s services for the Punjab Assembly, saying his efforts to modernise the assembly and digitise its records were “remarkable”. She also praised his role in ensuring quality legislation and conducting the proceedings of the House with prudence and efficiency.
“Our sole objective is to ensure relief reaches every citizen of Punjab and to take the province to new heights of development,” the CM said, adding that the pace of the government’s public service agenda would be accelerated further.
PA Speaker said the chief minister had, for the first time, ensured citizens’ constitutional right to cleanliness and a better environment through the Suthra Punjab initiative. He added that the international recognition received by the Suthra Punjab and Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programmes was a matter of pride for Punjab.
He said the chief minister’s performance was reflected in tangible results rather than rhetoric, adding that her government had established a model of rapid response and good governance in the province.
The speaker expressed confidence that the Punjab Assembly’s budget session would reflect the aspirations of the people and prove to be another milestone in the province’s development.
He also described the chief minister’s initiatives for the empowerment of women and youth as historic, saying that women in Punjab now felt safer and young people were more hopeful about their future.
