CM Maryam confers merit badges on Shoaib Mirza, DC Ali Ejaz

LAHORE, Sep 01 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday conferred CM Merit Badges on Special Assistant Shoaib Mirza and Lahore Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ejaz in recognition of their exemplary public service and prompt response during recent emergencies.

The chief minister personally pinned the merit badges on both officers at a ceremony and appreciated their commitment to serving people during difficult circumstances.

Shoaib Mirza supervised rescue and relief operations for seven consecutive days after water inundated villages in Muridke and Ferozewala. Remaining present in the affected areas throughout the operation, he supervised the rescue and relocation of hundreds of flood-affected people to safer places and ensured arrangements for accommodation, food, medicines and other essential facilities.

Similarly, Lahore Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ejaz immediately reached Harbanspura following a roof collapse and remained at the site for 16 hours. His timely presence and efforts helped save five precious human lives in the tragedy.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif commended both officers for demonstrating dedication, courage and a strong spirit of public service. She urged them to continue serving the people with the same commitment. “Those who sacrifice their comfort and peace for serving the people are the real heroes. Standing by the people and remaining with them through their joys and sorrows is truly commendable,” she said.

The chief minister directed government officers to avoid remaining confined to their offices when people faced difficulties and instead personally stand by them and share their problems. “I am happy that my team has people like Shoaib Mirza and Ali Ejaz,” she added.
