Chiniot Police hold flag march to ensure peaceful Muharram observance

CHINIOT, Jun 15 (APP): Chiniot Police, in collaboration with the district administration and allied departments, conducted a flag march across various parts of the city on Monday to reinforce security measures and maintain law and order ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The march was led by District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif and Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan. Personnel from the Elite Force, Falcon Squad, Traffic Police, Rescue 1122 and Para Force also participated. The procession commenced from Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk, passed through key areas of the city and concluded at the same location.
Addressing participants, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said the flag march was aimed at instilling a sense of security among citizens and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram-ul-Haram. He emphasized that the government’s code of conduct for Muharram would be implemented in letter and spirit, adding that no individual or group would be allowed to disrupt peace in the district.
The police chief warned that strict action would be taken against miscreants and elements seeking to create unrest, assuring that all available resources would be utilized to maintain law and order. Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said comprehensive arrangements were being finalized by all relevant departments to facilitate mourners and ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of Muharram across the district.
