Chiniot administration finalizes Muharram arrangements, directs departments to remain on high alert

CHINIOT, Jun 1 (APP): The district administration on Monday finalized preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram, with Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan chairing a high-level meeting to review arrangements aimed at ensuring the peaceful and secure conduct of religious gatherings and processions across the district.

The meeting was attended by assistant commissioners, municipal committee and district council officials, representatives of WAPDA, health services, Rescue 1122, police, WASA, Civil Defence, traffic police, Suthra Punjab and other relevant departments. Participants conducted a detailed review of administrative, security and civic measures planned for Muharram.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan directed authorities to ensure comprehensive cleanliness arrangements along procession routes, timely resolution of sewage and drainage issues, proper functioning of streetlights and uninterrupted electricity supply. WAPDA officials were instructed to make alternative power arrangements at sensitive locations, while the Health Department was directed to establish medical camps and ensure the availability of ambulances, medicines and medical staff at key points.

Emphasizing coordinated efforts, the deputy commissioner ordered police, traffic police, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 to maintain full operational readiness and effectively implement security, emergency response and traffic management plans. She said the district administration was utilizing all available resources to facilitate mourners and citizens during Muharram-ul-Haram, warning that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring the peaceful and safe observance of the occasion.
