Chenone partners with Social Welfare Department for industry-linked training

Chenone on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department to strengthen industry integration and promote academia-industry collaboration aimed at enhancing workforce skills and production standards.

Under the agreement, Chenone will provide quarterly trend forecasts through its design team to ensure products developed at social welfare centres remain aligned with global aesthetics, colour palettes and evolving consumer preferences. The company will also contribute to improving operational workflows at social welfare centres across Punjab to enhance production efficiency and quality control.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer Chenone Mian Kashif Ashfaq said the company would develop modern training modules for workers, focusing on the operation of high-end machinery, advanced finishing techniques, material design and contemporary material-handling practices. He said participants would also receive guidance on the use of quality raw materials to ensure products meet premium market standards.
He added that Chenone would provide marketing opportunities for products manufactured at the centres, enabling evaluation of consumer response while ensuring compliance with the brand’s quality and design benchmarks.
Director General Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Dr Shahinshah Faisal Azim termed the MoU a milestone for the department, saying it would help introduce modern trends, designs and expertise in the fields of home textiles, furniture, apparel and decor.
He said the collaboration would initially focus on improving the skills of the underutilised workforce and equipping them with modern techniques and market-oriented capabilities. He added that Chenone’s industry support would contribute to improving product quality and creating opportunities for export enhancement.
The MoU was signed by representatives of both organisations, with DG Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Dr Shahinshah Faisal Azim and CEO Chenone Mian Kashif Ashfaq representing their respective institutions.
