RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): The main flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day celebrations in Rawalpindi district was held at a local hotel, with Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir attending as chief guests.
The ceremony commenced as Commissioner along with Deputy Commissioner Captain
hoisted the national flag. A smartlyvturned around contingent of Punjab Police presented a formal guard of honor, followed by special prayers offered for the peace, progress, and sovereignty of the country. School children performed patriotic songs to mark the occasion.
The event was attended by additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, officials from various administrative departments, representatives of minority communities, and citizens from different walks of life.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Salman Ghani extended his congratulations on the country’s 79th Independence Day anniversary, emphasizing that genuine public service lies in easing the lives of citizens. He stated that every individual carries a profound responsibility to contribute sincerely toward national prosperity, adding that working together under the national flag remains essential for collective progress.
Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir also addressed the ceremony, saying that August 14 serves as a day of renewal. He highlighted that Pakistan continues on a path of growth with an impregnable defense system, urging citizens to reaffirm their commitment toward stability, unity, and national development.
