SIALKOT, Sep 01 (APP): Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ali Khan, accompanied by Trade Commissioner Zohaib Khan visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
Upon arrival, the High Commissioner was warmly received by SCCI President Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, Senior Vice President (SVP) Mian Murad Arshad and Vice President (VP) SCCI Salman Sheikh.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening Pakistan-Canada trade relations, increasing bilateral trade and investment, and creating direct business-to-business linkages between Sialkot exporters and Canadian buyers.
Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ali Khan appreciated the city’s industrial development, high-quality products and the significant contribution of local exporters to Pakistan’s international trade.
He emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Canada and explore new avenues of cooperation and business opportunities.
The SCCI members briefed the Canadian delegation about Sialkot’s major export sectors, particularly sports goods, surgical instruments and leather products, highlighting their production capabilities and demand in international markets.
The meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to increasing bilateral trade and promoting business-to-business (B2B) linkages between Pakistani and Canadian businesses.
The meeting was attended by the Sialkot business community.
