LAHORE, Oct 05 (APP):Police arrested a shop employee for allegedly stealing Rs115 million from a pan shop in Baghbanpura after disguising himself in a burqa.
The spokesperson for DIG Operations Lahore said on Monday that a call was received on Emergency Helpline 15 regarding the theft at a pan shop near Daroghawala Chowk. According to the shop owner, an unidentified thief had taken Rs115 million from the premises.
CCTV footage later revealed that the alleged thief was an employee of the shop. The suspect, identified as Hasnain Ali, allegedly entered the shop wearing a burqa and stole the cash while using the disguise to conceal his identity.
Police traced and arrested the suspect with the help of CCTV footage, the spokesperson said.
Police recovered Rs117.5 million from the arrested suspect, while he was handed over to the Investigation Wing for further investigation and recovery, the spokesperson added.
DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran urged citizens to have the details of domestic and business employees registered at the nearest police station or Khidmat Markaz.
He said precaution played a key role in ensuring the safety and security of citizens and their property
