Brother and sister involved in house robbery arrested in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Jun 20 (APP):Police have arrested a domestic worker and her accomplice, identified as her brother, for allegedly stealing valuables from a woman’s house five days ago.
Police spokesperson told on Saturday that the suspects were siblings and were taken into custody following an investigation that utilized technical surveillance and human intelligence sources. Police have recovered stolen items worth more than Rs2.6 million, including local and foreign currency, gold jewelry, luxury bags, watches and other valuables.
The recovered property includes one-and-a-half tolas of gold jewelry, Rs503,000 in cash, 1,400 Saudi riyals, 125 Azerbaijani manats, and 105 US dollars, he said.
Police also recovered luxury handbags, watches, and other items valued at more than Rs900,000.
Investigators said the suspects allegedly carried out the theft while the homeowners were away and later fled the scene. Following the registration of the case, Rawat Police launched an operation that led to the arrest of the domestic worker and her brother and the recovery of the stolen property.
SP Saddar Anum Sher stated that the suspects would be presented before the court with substantial evidence.
She made it clear that it is prime duty of police to protect the lives and properties of people.
She also urged the citizens to ensure the proper registration and verification of domestic workers to avoid such incidents and enhance household security.
