Boy drowns in water-filled pit in Multan

MULTAN, Jun 03 (APP): A five-year-old boy drowned in a water-filled pit near a tubewell Peeran Ghaib road on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving

information about the incident. Family members said the child had left home to play nearly three hours earlier and did not return, prompting a frantic search.

After extensive efforts, relatives recovered the boy unconscious in stagnant water accumulated in a pit adjacent to a tubewell. Rescue personnel promptly retrieved the child and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before shifting him to a nearby medical facility. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
